1 token ≈ 0.75 words (in English)
1M tokens ≈ 750,000 words

approx - Full Harry Potter series (7 books) is approx 1.1M tokens

What it means is that we can upload long pdfs and ask Opus 4.6 questions, without the earlier model's context window forgetting after a certain point. Previously one would have to chop the pdf into smaller files/pages / copy-paste and then repeat the output from the previous questions as context for a new session.
